Department of Biology
Faculty & Staff
Currently, the department is being served by 15 faculty members, with all but one being full timers (the single part-timer is an administrative staff serving as the department’s full time Microtechnician. All the department’s faculty members have at least a Master of Science degree in either Biology, Marine Biology or other closely-related fields. Six of the faculty members have Ph.D’s, who earned their respective degrees abroad (U.S.A, Japan, Thailand, Australia, The Netherlands, and Sweden) - all under scholarship grants. It is therefore expected that research has been ingrained into the culture of the department’s faculty who have established track record as found in their published works in both local and international scientific journals, earning them various forms of recognition.
