Alumni Relations
The Department has trained hundreds of chemists over the past fifty years. Many of our graduates have successful careers not only in the field of Chemistry but also in other areas.
We recently invited some distinguished alumni who are based locally to give career talks to high school students. Included in this group were Cesar Cagalawan (B.S. Chem. 1978; President, Philippine Drug Screening Laboratory, Inc.), Danilo C. Empeynado (B.S. Chem 1978; QA Manager, San Miguel Corporation Brewery), Amalia M. Araņas (B.S. Chem. 1980; Site General Manager, Kerry Foods International), Farley L. Baricuatro (B.S. Chem 1990; Marketing Director, Indo-Pacific Resources, FMC Marine Colloids), and Michael R. Eco (B.S. Chem. 1992, Marketing Director-Asia, M&Q Plastic Products).
At present, we are building up a database for our alumni who are now in other countries. Recent postgraduate students are also listed. An alumni homecoming is slated December this year.
