Overview
Experience a daily blast from the past or see how the future is being made in today’s important events by enrolling in History. The USC Department of History offers one undergraduate program (Bachelor of Arts in History) and three graduate programs (Master in History, Master of Arts in History and Certificate in Cebuano Heritage Studies). With heritage tours and other exciting field trips complementing classroom discussions of key events, who says a History student’s life is uneventful?

Aims & Objectives
The Department of History aims to:
  • provide a broad cultural background for students to serve more effectively God and fellowmen;
  • develop skills and competence in historical research and a persevering zeal for truth;
  • develop proficiency and dedication in the study and teaching of history;
  • produce professionals in History whose orientation generates national, regional, and international understanding through the use of innovative interdisciplinary approaches to learning; sustain the personal and professional growth of the faculty and staff; and
  • promote awareness in historical and cultural matters through the sponsorship and organization of and participation in community programs and projects.
