Bachelor of Library and Information Science
The Library and Information Science (LIS) curriculum provides for the study of theory, principles, and practices necessary for the provision of quality and professional library and information services that will make it responsive to the challenges of the new technologies as well as in keeping with the need to make LIS professionals globally competent.
The program aims to:
1. equip the professional with the composite knowledge, skills and tools to enable him/her to be responsive to the changing information needs of society that is reflective of Christian values;
2. prepare graduates for Library and Information Science for the challenges of the profession emphasizing the development and competencies which should be used in the practice of the profession; and
3. provide prospective information professionals with in-depth knowledge of the context and specified skills essential for effective librarianship.
