Research

The SoarGroup, (Sociology and Anthropology Research Group), the research arm of the Department, carries out researches that hew closely around four broad areas:

• Environment and Ecology
• Development and Resource Management
• Population and Health
• Cultural Heritage and Archaeology

Research work carried out by faculty members have been funded externally at one time or another by the Ford Foundation, David and Lucile Packard Foundation, Philippine Tourism Authority, Philippine APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Studies Center Network, the Asian Development Bank, and Philippine NGO (Non-Government Organization) Support Program Inc., among others.
